Biography

Joseph Bigley received his M.F.A. in sculptural dimensional studies from the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2008. His work explores a wide variety of material and content. Seeing his own work as a form of social commentary, Bigley has addressed such issues as environmentalism, social justice, critiques on capitalism and geo-politics. His work has employed traditional sculptural methods, site specific installation, digital video and performance. This interdisciplinary interest fuels an active research based studio practice. His work has been exhibited across the United States and internationally.
