Josep Faus Pascuchi is professor emeritus in the Department of Financial Management. He has held a number of important positions at IESE. He was holder of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Chair of Finance and the Mario Losantos del Campo Chair of Real Estate. He was also academic director of the International Center for Financial Research and has served at various times as director of research, director of scientific staff, program director and member of the board of directors. Prof. Faus earned his Ph.D. in business administration from Harvard University. He also holds a doctorate in industrial engineering from the E.T.S.I.I. of Barcelona and a degree in science from the Universidad de Barcelona. During his various tenures as visiting professor, Prof. Faus taught at Harvard University, the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), the University of Cape Town and several South American institutions. He also carries out consultancy work for several national and multinational firms and has participated in major studies on financial mergers. Prof. Faus has organized a number of international conferences and is the author of numerous books on diverse topics such as operational finance, financial policies and decisions, structural finance, corporative valuation, value management. Recent publications include the book he co-wrote with L. Pradas titled Políticas y Decisiones Financieras para la Gestión del Valor en las Empresas (Financial Policies and Decisions for Corporate Value Management), 2001. He was also the coordinator of the team that compiled the White Paper on the Spanish Real Estate Sector (1999) and the co-author of a major study on Catalonia's competitive edge.
