Biography

He holds a Master's degree in Botany from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1989) and a PhD in Plant Biology from the State University of Campinas (1999). He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a member of the permanent core of the Postgraduate Program in Plant Biology. From 2004 to 2007 he participated in the Commission for the Evaluation of Graduate Programs (CB I) sensu stricto of CAPES. He has experience in the area of ​​Botany, with emphasis in Taxonomy of Fanerógamos, acting mainly in the following subjects: Taxonomy of Angiosperms, Systematics in Solanaceae and Floristic Studies. He is the curator of the collection of dicotyledons and the database of the herbarium BHCB, is part of the management committee of INCT Virtual Herbarium of Flora and Fungi and the scientific committee of Flora of Brazil 2020.

Research Intrest

Systematics of Neotropical Solanaceae, Plant Taxonomy, Floristic and phytosociological studies.
