Biography

João da Costa Chaves Júnior holds a PhD from the Institute of Physics of the University of São Paulo (IFUSP, 1996) and a Master's degree from the Institute (1986). Graduated in Physics (baccalaureate) from the University of São Paulo (1981). Degree in Physics (IFUSP, 1983). He is an Assistant Professor at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP-Assis), where he was Director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences from 1999 to 2003. He works mainly in the following research topics: aids, immune response models and teaching of math. He is a researcher at ADUNESP's Truth Commission, where he develops research on the teaching movement and resistance to the dictatorship of 1964-85.
