Biography

Studied Biology at the University of Würzburg, specialising in Physics, Biochemistry, Physiology and Microbiology. Final year “Diplom” project in genetic engineering at the Tutzing Research Centre of Boehringer Mannheim (now Roche). Dissertation and teaching as research assistant in Biotechnology at the University of Würzburg on the effect of high-intensity pulsed electric fields on plant and animal cells (PEF, electroporation, electrofusion). Research associate of the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag (TAB) on issues including: high-yielding cereal for developing countries. Research associate with the Association of German Engineers (VDI) at its headquarters in Düsseldorf, New Technologies department, Future Technologies research group. Authorised officer (Prokurist) and department head for Research Cooperation at Royal Numico BV in Friedrichsdorf/Taunus (now Danone). New Product Manager at “The Lorenz Snack World” at its headquarters in Neu-Isenburg. Since 2010 Professor of Technology of Plant-Based Food at Fulda University of Applied Sciences.
