Biography

Dr. Taylor’s has received his PhD from Toronto. She is serving as Adjunct and Graduate Faculty, Department of Health Management, Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI since 1996. She recieved CIHR review committee Operating Grant: Childhood Obesity Prevention and Treatment in 2008. She has also been a Reviewer for Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior, Journal of School Health, Canadian Journal of Public Health, Canadian Journal of Dietetic Practice and Research, Public Health Nutrition Journal. She is President, PEI Healthy Eating Alliance (PEIHEA) since 2008 till present & Spokesperson and Board member since 2001.

Research Intrest

Dr. Taylor’s research focuses on children’s nutritional health, and the environmental factors which influences how children eat, their nutritional status and their risk of obesity and chronic disease. Her current research examines the role of school nutrition policies on children’s eating habits and weight status, and the perceptions of key stakeholders involved in implementing these policies. Other areas of interest include nutrition in early childhood and international nutrition.
