Jenica Chambers, PhD, completed her undergraduate studies at Williams College in Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry. She was subsequently awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in pharmacology from the Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. Her doctoral research focused on elucidating the signaling pathways that regulate Zipper Interacting Protein Kinase (ZIPK) activity in smooth muscle and developing novel small molecule inhibitors of ZIPK, with the goal of developing drugs that treat and prevent conditions such as hypertension and stroke.
