Biography

"Jeannette Davidson joined the department in 1992. Prior to coming to Bradley, Dr. Davidson was a lecturer at Pretoria University, South Africa, and practiced as clinical and corporate Consulting Dietitian, as well as directed the Campus Student Dietetic Services. Besides serving as director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dr. Davidson’s research includes (a) for the past ten years, she has been principal investigator of Bradley’s Health and Aging Study, in which factors that influence healthy aging are investigated, (b) current focus on obesity in children, involving assessment, prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity in area schools, and (c) adequate fueling for recreational and athletic performance. Her recent publication can be accessed in The Journal of Nutrition for the Elderly. Apart from serving on university, college and department committees, Dr. Davidson is faculty mentor for Bodyworks, a Nutrition Clinic conducted by dietetic seniors, and faculty adviser for the Dietetic Students Association. Dr. Davidson regularly participates in faculty-student collaborative research and serves as reviewer for the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior, the Journal of Nutrition, Health & Aging, the Family & Consumer Sciences Research Journal, and the Editorial Board of the Healthy Aging Newsletter.
