Javier Ruiz Albert (Alicante, 1968) has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Seville, where he obtained the title of Doctor (1999) in the Department of Genetics of the Faculty of Biology for his work on genes involved in the biosynthesis of beta- Carotene in filamentous fungi, with a projection to the biotechnological production of this previtamin. For four years (1999-2003) he worked in London as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Molecular Microbiology and Infection (CMMI) of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Imperial College London, analyzing the molecular mechanisms of infection of various pathogenic bacteria of animals as relevant as Salmonella, Streptococcus and Staphylococcus. Since 2003, and until now, the applicant is part of the Genetics Area of ​​the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Málaga (UMA), where he combines teaching, research and university management. Joined the Area as a postdoctoral researcher (2003-2005), he subsequently obtained positions as Assistant Professor Doctor (2005-2008) and Professor Contractor Doctor (accreditation in 2004, with contract in force since 2008).
