Biography

Jason Challeen is in his second season of his second stint at the University of Jamestown. Challeen serves as the Jimmies offensive coordinator and coaches the offensive line. He also serves as the team's academic coordinator and recruits North Dakota, Minnesota and Arizona. He returned to UJ in 2015 after serving as offensive coordinator at Mount Ida in Newton, Mass. Challeen was previously the offensive coordinator at Castleton State in Castleton, Vermont. Before his time at Castleton, Challeen was the Assistant Head Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, and Recruiting Coordinator for the past two season at the University of Mary. Challeen has also served on the staffs at St. Cloud State, MN (01), Southwestern College, KS (02-03), University of Minnesota Duluth, MN (2004) and Mesabi Range, MN (05-06). Challeen's first stop at UJ was in 2007-08 under coach Bud Etzold. Challeen has helped guide four teams to post season appearances and four conference championships. In his previous stops, Challeen has held a variety of duties including Assistant Head Football Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, and Instructor in the Physical Education Department. Challeen and his wife, Cheryl, are parents of a daughter Gracelin and son Hunter.
