Biography

Full Professor, Department of Pharmacology - ICB - UFMG. Since 1993, she has been a director of the Postgraduate Program in Biological Sciences: Physiology and Pharmacology. She holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto (USP) and a PhD from the Pharmacology Departments of the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) and Oxford (England). Predominant performance in the training of undergraduate human resources (Scientific Initiation) and Postgraduate (master's and doctorate), which resulted in several national and international scientific publications in the area of ​​inflammation and pain. Currently, he is active in the area of ​​analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs development, having requested two patent applications. He has edited two books by Editora UFMG and is a member of editorial board and reviewer of important international magazines in his area of ​​activity. Participated in the administrative management of the Institute of Biological Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais as deputy director-elect, from 2010 to May 2014. She retired from the Pharmacology Department on 02/16/2017, however her stay in it was extended by one year.
