Biography

He has done his Ph.D., 1981, University of Wisconsin, Madison, M.S., 1978, University of Wisconsin, Madison, B.S., 1975, University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Research Intrest

Dr. Novakofski's current research focuses on genetics and transmission of prion diseases. In the past, he has published in the broad areas of adipose and muscle physiology and metabolism with colleagues from the College of Veterinary Medicine, the College of Engineering, and the College of Applied Health Sciences as well as the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. He has served on various committees at the campus level including the Senate Executive Committee, the Faculty Advisory Committee (FAC), Chair of the Committee on Campus Operations, Chair of the Committee on Information Technology, Chair of the Provost's Information Technology Advisory Board (ITAB) and Chair of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
