Biography

James W. Lohr work primarily at the Buffalo VA Medical Center (VAMC) where heserved as the chief of nephrology for many years. He care for patients with a variety of kidney diseases, including acute and chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, glomerulonephritis, polycystic disease and hypertension. He participate in clinical trials related to treatment of diabetic kidney disease, treatment of anemia in chronic kidney disease and hypertension. Education and Training: Fellowship, University of Kansas Medical Center (1985); Internship and Residency, University of Kansas Medical Center (1983); MD, Medicine, University of Kansas (1980); BA, Chemistry, College of Wooster (1975). He also give 12 lectures and participate in four small-group sessions each year. Professor, University at Buffalo (2002-present). Chief of Nephrology, Buffalo VA Medical Center (2001-present); Attending Physician, Sisters of Charity Hospital (1988-present); Staff Physician, Buffalo VA Medical Center (1986-present); Associate Professor, Medicine, Univeristy at Buffalo (1992–2002). He the program director for the nephrology fellowship program and have served in this role since 1997.
