Biography

Dr James McCaw is an Australian Research Council Future Fellow. He completed a PhD in theoretical physics in 2005 and has since developed an independent research career in the field of mathematical biology and epidemiology with a focus on infectious diseases. His fellowship, Developing mathematical models of infection and transmission to link biology, epidemiology and public health policy , reflects his goal to bring quantitative model-based approaches to problems in the biological and public health research domains. Dr McCaw was a foundation member of the Modelling and Simulation Unit within the Infection and Immunity Theme at Murdoch Childrens and at the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne.
