Biography

Mr. Isaac K. Abeberese was born at Pramso in Ashanti Region to Opanin Kwasi Addei and Madam Akua Dede (all cocoa farmers), in June 1957. He had his early education at Pramso Roman Catholic Primary School and Local Authority Middle School where he completed with distinction in the Middle School Leaving Certificate Examination. He had his Secondary School education at Technology Secondary School at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), completing in 1977. In April 1978, he joined the then Forest Products Research Institute (now Forestry Research Institute of Ghana-FORIG) as Technical Assistant Grade II. He received sponsorship from the Institute to the School of Forestry, (which has metamorphosed into the University of Energy and Natural Resources) Sunyani, completing in 1982. He was subsequently appointed Technical Assistant Grade 1 and assigned to the Institute’s Clonal Seed Orchards project at the South Formango (Nnadieso) and Northern Scrap West (Abetifi) Research Centres. Between 1985 – 1987, he pursued the Diploma course in Natural Resources Management at KNUST after which he was upgraded to Senior Technical Officer GD II, and was again assigned to the two research stations.
