Professor Khalaf earned her PhD in maternal child health nursing from New York University in 1989, and her Master degree in Advanced Education in 1985. She is an expert in curriculum building, evaluation and accreditation of programs in nursing and the higher education. Professor Khalaf served many academic administrative positions, at the UJ and currently Professor Khalaf is the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Al- Ahaliyya Amman University. Professor Khalaf is a board member in the Jordanian Nursing Council, and a member in the Board of trustees of Yarmouk University was a member in the Board of trustees Al Zaytoonah University, and higher youth council. Professor Khalaf is the first Professor in Maternal child Health Nursing in Jordan, the evaluation of Professor Khalaf for the promotion to professor rank which was done by international reviewers was the highest since the establishment of the grading system at the University (4.72 out of 5) she published mostly in high impact factor international Journal, many of her publication were funded through national and international grants, and her publications is highly cited. Professor Khalaf worked as consultant for many national and international institutions. The work included programs accreditation, curriculum building, strategic planning, quality management, training nurses and physicians. Professor Khalaf was a member in many committees to develop national and regional strategies such as the national reproductive strategy, the elderly strategy, the national youth strategy, health media strategy…, She is a member in the editorial board and a reviewer for many national and international Journals. Professor Khalaf was awarded the Award for the “distinguish research for the year 2004-2005 – and the Award of Distinguish researcher for the year 2010-2011 from the University of Jordan, and the Princess Muna Medals Award (Rofaida AL salamieh) for Excellence in nursing education and research.
