Biography

Currently, She is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education in UP,SA. Her achievements include Nomination to present findings from PhD at the National Foundation for Research Conference, Bloemfontein (2008), Faculty of Education, Research Indaba: Winner of best PhD presentation(2006), European Union Funding, Literacy project: Project Leader: Joubert, I. Budget: R400 000 in 2010, Dean’s award for BEd re-curriculation, Presented by Prof Irma Eloff in 2010, One of the Excellent Teachers in the Faculty of Education in 2010, Teaching Innovation award, EDUVATE, UP in 2010 and Teaching Innovation award, EDUVATE, UP in 2006.

Research Intrest

Her area of research are Democratic Citizenship Education, empowerment of the young child: dissemination of their voice, literacy teaching and learning, assessment in the Foundation Phase.
