He is a Professor in Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, University of Pretoria,SA. He is serving as an editorial member and reviewer of several international reputed journals. He is the member of many international affiliations. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities. He received several honours and Awards including Exceptional academic achiever, University of Pretoria (2017), Rated as an internationally acclaimed researcher by the South African National Research Foundation (2016), SAIEE President’s Award (2014), Exceptional academic achiever, University of Pretoria (2013), Rated as an internationally acclaimed researcher by the South African National Research Foundation (2011), IFAC Outstanding Service Award (2008), Elected Fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering (2006), Certificate of merit for paper published in the Journal of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (2004), Academic achiever of excellence, University of Pretoria (2002), Mintek Achievement Award for “Process control of ROM milling circuits” (1992) and Dean's Prize for the best final year student in Electronic Engineering (1985).
