Biography

I graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a history major. I then obtained my maitrise and Doctoral degrees in Paris. My postgraduate research emphases were on prosopography study and social history. In the late 1980's, I worked as a research consultant in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). My research specialization was on China's Special Economic Zones, the science and technology development policies and modernization in China. My current research focus is mainly on the Social and Economic History of Modern China and Hong Kong.
