Professor Hemat Elsaka holds a PhD in Public Relations and a Master’s in Public relations, both from Zagazig University, Egypt; and a Bachelor’s in Public Relations & Advertising from the College of Mass Communication, Cairo University, Egypt. Professor Hemat Elsaka joined Ahlia University in 2009 as Chairperson of Mass Communication & Public Relations Department. She was appointed Dean of the College of Arts & Science in 2015. Professor Hemat started her academic career in 1992 as demonstrator in the Faculty of Specific Education College in Zagazig University, Egypt; becoming Assistant Lecturer in 1994 and Lecturer in 1996. She was promoted to Head of Department of Mass Communication & Public Relations in the Faculty of Specific Education at Zagazig University, serving for 13 years from 1996 to 2009. During this time she visited the United States for an Academic Mission to Pittsburgh University in 2002. She was promoted to Associate Professor of Public Relations in 2003 then to Professor of Public Relations in 2008. Throughout her career, Professor Hemat has done extensive academic work in the fields of mass communications and public relations, teaching a variety of courses in these fields. Her experience also includes observation, follow-up and evaluation, leading research teams and projects, participating in local and international conferences. She also has practical experience in planning and implementing research and studies for mass media organizations. In addition, she advises and supervises master’s and PhD students on issues related to mass communication and public relations.
