Biography

Hamid R. Safavi was born in Isfahan, Iran 1968. Dr. Safavi is an Associate Prof. of Civil Engineering in water resources management at Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran. His main areas of research are integrated water resources management (IWRM), groundwater modeling and management, conjunctive use of surface water and groundwater, and groundwater contaminant transport modeling. He has published extensively in journals and presented papers at several national and international conferences. Dr. Safavi received his PhD from Department of Civil Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology, his MSc from the Sharif University of Technology, and his BSc from Tabriz University, Iran. He has spent his PhD sabbatical leave at University of California, Davis. Currently, he is the Dean of the Civil Engineering Dept., and also head of Water and Wastewater Research Institute, Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran.
