Biography

Hanneke is a senior lecturer in Taxation at the University of Pretoria. She is currently in the process of completing her PhD (Taxation) studies. She has experience as research coordinator for a MCom (Taxation) programme, subject head of various pre-grade Taxation subjects, as well as supervisor for numerous students busy with their mini-dissertations. Hanneke also has extensive experience as lecturer in Taxation on pre- and postgraduate levels and as presenter of various certificate courses. Her career started as secondary school teacher and developed into a lecturer at tertiary institutions for the past 11 years. Hanneke is a qualified chartered accountant, a registered member of the SAICA and a registered master tax practitioner at SAIT. She received the award for best master’s dissertation in 2010, presented papers on national and international conferences, published research articles in accredited journals, received two grants for her PhD research, and is currently a consulting reviewer for the Journal of Economic and Financial Sciences. She is also an external examiner for Master’s degree dissertations at various universities

Research Intrest

She has a keen interest in the philosophy, history and fundamental principles of Taxation.
