Born in 1966 in Konya, Prof. Dr. Güven BaÄŸla also completed her schooling in Konya. In 1989, she graduated from Ankara University Medical School. After carrying out her compulsory service in Pazaryeri in the province of Bilecik, she worked in the Maternal and Infant Health and Family Planning Center in Ankara. In 1995, she sat the Medical Specialization Exam (TUS) and gained a place at Trakya University Medical School to study histology and embryology. She qualified in 1998 and then worked for 2 years at the Büyük Çamlıca Private Hospital in Ä°stanbul as an acupunture specialist. From 2000 to 2007 she held the post of assistant professor at Abant Ä°zzet Baysal University, Düzce Medical School. In 2007 she became an associate professor and was appointed as a founding academic member of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in the Department of Histology and Embryology. She held the post of department chair until 2014. After training in Assisted Reproductive Treatment Techniques at Ankara University Medical School, she received her license to practice from the Ministry of Health. She has been involved in many research projects (TÜBÄ°TAK and university research projects) as a director and a researcher, and has published the results in national and international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, she has also acted as a referee for a number of national and international journals. Prof. Dr. Güven BaÄŸla has also worked as an instructor for acupuncture courses aimed at doctors at Gazi University and Yeditepe University Medical Schools. On 15 August 2014, Prof. Dr. Güven BaÄŸla was appointed Chair of Histology and Embryology at SANKO University Medical School. Prof. Dr. Güven BaÄŸla is married and has a search and rescue dog named “Tango”.
