Biography

Dr. Gunars CHIPENS is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry, Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis , Latvia. His research interests includes Structure of the Second Half of the Genetic Code. He is serving as an editorial member and reviewer of several international reputed journals. Dr. Gunars CHIPENS is the member of many international affiliations. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities. He has authored of many research articles/books related to Structure of the Second Half of the Genetic Code.

Research Intrest

Structure of the Second Half of the Genetic Code Superantigens: structural and functional organization; action mechanisms; construction and synthesis of artificial superantigens; superantigens as inducers of autoimmune diseases. M Proteins (Streptococcus pyogenes): structural and functional organization; M proteins as inducers of autoimmune diseases. Exon/Intron Emergence Problem Programmed Cell Death: active site structures of proteins, apoptosis inducers; apoptosis inducers as potential drugs for cancer treatment and autoimmunity (elimination of autoreactive T cell clones); design and synthesis of apoptosis inducers.
