Biography

Golam Rabbani teaches as an Assistant Professor at The Department of English, Jahangirnagar University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before joining Jahagirnagar University, he taught (as a Lecturer) at East West University and Eastern University in Dhaka. His areas of research include Baul literature and culture, cognitive approaches to literature, postcolonial theory and literature, sexuality and body politics, literary and cultural theory, and representation and culture. Some of his recent research articles concentrate on voyeurism in media, hetero-imperialism in films, Darwinism in novels, and so forth. He has also presented his research papers in many international conferences. He studied English (BA and MA) in Jahangirnagar University. He received the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship in 2013 and studied in the University of Antwerp, Belgium. He completed his courses and MA thesis on literature, linguistics and cultural theories and successfully received his twp-year MA in Literature and Linguistics: English in 2015. While he was an Erasmus Scholar and student in Belgium, he was invited to give academic talks and lectures in many universities in Europe. At present, he is on study leave and pursuing his PhD studies (with full funding) on literature and cultural studies in Queen's University, Kingston, Canada.
