"Giorgos Petrakos is Associate Professor of Quantitative Methods and Computers in the Department of Public Administration of the Panteion University. He graduated from the Mathematics Department of the University of Athens (1988), received a master's degree in Applied Statistics from the Washington University George ( M . Sc ., 1990) and PhD in Statistics from of Wyoming University ( Ph . D., 1993). He taught theoretical and applied Statistics in both US Universities, while in Greece he worked as a specialist scientist in the departments of Public Administration and Economic and Regional Development of the Panteion University. In 2006 he was elected to the Department of Public Administration, where he teaches Statistics and Informatics. He is a lecturer in two postgraduate programs in the Department of Mathematical Analysis, Quantitative Methods and Statistical Surveys Methodology. He also teaches Quantitative Methods in the Open University MBA , Audit Sampling and International Auditing Standards at the National Technical University of Athens and IESOEL. His research subjects are Applied Statistics, Statistical Survey Methodology, Official Statistics and Audit Sampling. He has published 40 papers in international journals and conference proceedings with judges and has made 25 papers at international and Greek conferences. In the research of the project have been more than 250 reports . He is associate editor of the scientific journal Statistical Review and Journal of European Association for Survey Research and reviewer of Journal of Applied Statistics and Journal of Artificial Intelligence . He is a member of the Greek Mathematical Society , the Royal Statistical Society, the Orbicom of Unesco and the European Association for Survey Research. At the same time, since 1998 he is a consultant for statistical methodology of EUROSTAT quality and has participated in more than 30 important research projects in the field of Official Statistics. It has presented the results of these projects to European and international organizations such as EUROSTAT, JRC, OECD and UNESCO."
