Professor Gilbert Deray is working at the Hôpital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris. A nephrologist and pharmacologist, Professor Deray has been in charge of the Nephrology Department at the Hôpital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière since 1998. He has been trained at the Public Hospitals in Paris and in the United States.
