Gerson Nakazato is currently an associate professor in the Department of Microbiology at the Center for Biological Sciences of the State University of Londrina (UEL). Vice-coordinator of the Graduate Program in Microbiology / CCB / UEL (2013-2017), and permanent member of the Professional Master's Degree in Veterinary Clinics / CCA / UEL. Consultant for the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES). Scientific Advisor of the Foundation for Research Support of the State of São Paulo (FAPESP). Member of the Advisory Committee (CAA) - Biological Sciences, of the Araucária Foundation (Paraná). Technical manager of CCB / UEL's Central Biotherm (2016-2017). He was a Research Fellow of the Department of Genetics, Evolution and Bioagents (2009) and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology of the Institute of Biology of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (2007-2009). Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Viçosa - MG (1997), MSc in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UNICAMP (2001), and PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from UNICAMP (2006). Experience in the areas of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology, with emphasis on Bacteriology and Antimicrobials, working mainly on the following topics: Nanobiotechnology, natural antimicrobials (new compounds), virulence factors of Escherichia coli, genetics and bacterial molecular biology.
