PIANETTI is Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Products of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Pharmacist graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1975), he has been teaching since 1976. He obtained his MA degree in 1986 in the Graduate Program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and the title of DOCTOR in 1993 by the University of Paris XI, both in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He also has two specialization courses in Biological Testing by the Pan American Health Organization and in Methodology of Higher Education by the School of Education of UFRGS. He has twice participated in overseas training with grants awarded by the World Health Organization in Venezuela and Mexico. He is a guest professor at the Post-Graduation in Pharmacology, Federal University of Ceará. He works in the area of ​​knowledge of analysis and quality control of medicines, studies of pharmaceutical equivalence and validation of methods for bioequivalence studies. He has coordinated sectors of acquisition, distribution and quality control of medicines from the special programs of the Ministry of Health. He was in charge of the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia Commission, as its President between 2006 and 2011 and served as observer member of Pharmacopée Europeénne in Strasbourg - France and Consultant for the United States Pharmacopoeia for more than six years. He was honored by the Federal Pharmacy Council with the Pharmaceutical Merit Medal in 2002 and the Santos Dumont Commendation in 2010. He is an elected member of the Brazilian and French Pharmacy Academies. Was Director of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Federal University of Minas Gerais 2000-2004 management being re-elected for the 2012-2016 management. He is a supervisor at the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at UFMG for master's, doctorate and postdoctoral studies. He is the founder and current coordinator of the Project of installation of the Memory Center of Pharmacy at UFMG since 2004.
