Biography

  Dr. Georges Kachaamy is a registered architect, a member of the Order of Engineers and Architects in Beirut and an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects. He was a grantee of the Japanese Government Monbukagakusho Scholarship and received his doctorate from the University of Tokyo in Japan. His research interest relates to space planning, design, phenomenological theory in architecture, and evidence-based spatial experiments.   As a practicing architect he has worked in the United Arab Emirates with Burt Hill on different national, regional and international urban/architectural designs. While in Japan he worked at C+A (Coelacanth & Associates, Tokyo branch) on many designs mainly universal spaces for meditation. His works at AAA (Atelier des Architectes Associes) in Lebanon included the master plan and urban analysis of the region of Tannourine for the general directorate of urbanism, the urban conservation and design studies for the Byblos old city, Cultural Heritage and Urban Development (CHUD) for the World Bank and the Council for Development and Reconstruction.   In addition, Dr. Kachaamy has won international prizes from renowned organizations such as the International Union of Architects, UIA (Union Internationale de Architects) and for the past ten years he has been involved in art projects: www.kachaamy.com.
