Biography

Professor Geoff Beattie complete his BSc. Psychology from University of Birmingham in 1974. He complete his Ph.D. Trinity College from University of Cambridge in 1978. Chartered Psychologist, British Psychological Society Chartered Scientist, The Science Council and British Psychological Society He became Fellow of the British Psychological Society & Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Research Intrest

1. Human multi-modal communication. 2. The relationship between iconic gesture and speech in the conceptualization and generation of utterances in everyday talk. 3. Sustainable consumption, in the context of the threat posed by climate change, focusing on consumer attitudes/behaviour, with a particular emphasis on implicit processes. 4. The role of the media in shaping our implicit values and our thinking about the environment. 5. Implicit prejudice and its effects on everyday life, including the selection of candidates for posts. 6. The psychology of sport and sporting achievement.
