Gayle Hill is a senior analyst with Health Care Development Services, Inc. She has forty years’ experience in all aspects of Anatomic Pathology with extensive training in immunohistochemistry. Her technical creativity and innovations in workflow development and improvement have proven beneficial to many of our clients. Ms. Hill has been managing anatomic pathology departments since the early 1990’s with emphasis on work prioritization, new test development and utilization, inventory and budget control and importantly staff training and development. She has worked with several colleges to develop histology courses and acted as an on-site mentor to educate histology technicians who ultimately fulfil the requirements needed for successful ASCP certification. Ms. Hill has managed several laboratory design projects including many which were system wide laboratory consolidations. She managed several successful consolidations of the anatomic pathology departments, the most notable at one of the largest consolidated hospital laboratory systems in the U.S which included six hospitals. Her functions in these consolidations included all aspects from space design, equipment placement and function, staffing reorganization, specimen logistics and safety as well as regulatory agency compliance for all aspects of the operations. Ms. Hill has an undergraduate degree in laboratory science from Cincinnati Technical College. She has presented many immunohistochemistry lectures to various resident and faculty groups throughout her career. She has been a laboratory inspector with the College of American Pathologists since 1992.
