Dr. Chu is an Associate Professor at the New England College of Optometry, NECO, where he lectures students in the areas of geriatric and public health. He also is the Senior Director of Public Health and Community Collaborations at NECO Center for Eye Care. Dr. Chu received his doctor of optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1995 and his master’s degree in public health in 2002 from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Chu has been involved in geriatric eye care since 1998 and has established relationships with many geriatric community organizations and health care providers. He has lectured to many different audiences including geriatricians, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, optometrists, Lions Clubs, and senior centers. Topics covered include visual health and function in the elderly, vision in falls prevention, prevention of ocular disease, access to eye care, and the importance of low vision rehabilitation services.
