TESCH Assistant Professor of Accounting M.B.A., Pepperdine University, U.S. B.S.B. in Accounting and Finance, University of Minnesota, U.S. C.P.A., State of California, U.S. Prof. Tesch has over 40 years of experience in the internal auditing profession, public accounting and fraud investigation. He has been a Chief Audit Executive with two major Fortune 100 bank holding companies in the U.S. managing over 100 professional staff; an Audit Manager in charge of computer audit and litigation support for one of the Big Four public accounting firms in Los Angeles; Head of Internal Audit for the FDIC in two large Southern California Savings and Loan institutions that were seized and liquidated; and , a consultant specializing in re-news and performing quality assessment reviews of internal audit functions for Board Audit Committees. During the past 22 years, Prof. Tesch worked in the Middle East, the U.K., the U.S., the Caribbean and Bermuda. After the Gulf War in 1990-91, the Minister of Finance for Kuwait recruited Prof. Tesch to rebuild the Kuwait Investment Authority’s (KIA) international internal audit organization and to investigate a massive US$5 billion fraud in the KIA’s London Office. For the past 11 years, Prof. Tesch was Senior Vice President, Head of Group Internal Audit for the Butterfield Bank Group in Bermuda with subsidiaries in Guernsey, London, Cayman, Barbados, the Bahamas, Canada, Switzerland, Malta and Hong Kong. During his career in business, he has conducted numerous fraud investigations in the U.S., the Middle East, Spain, the U.K. and Bermuda. Prof. Tesch has an MBA (summa cum laude) from Pepperdine University in California where he was an Adjunct Professor of Accounting for ten years in their executive MBA program. He was a past President of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Los Angeles Chapter, a District Director, a Regional Director and served on the International Board of Directors. He is an active speaker on internal auditing, fraud and quality assurance for the IIA, MIS and IIR in London, the Middle East and the U.S. He was recently a member of IIA’s International Committee on Quality and now serves on the IIA’s Professional Seminar Committee. Prof. Tesch is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Forensic Certified Public Accountant (FCPA), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Business Manager (CBM), and a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA).
