Biography

"Wai Cheng received her medical degree from UniversitiSains Malaysia in1997. She completed her postgraduate training in Paediatrics and obtained the MRCPCH (UK) in 2003. She is registered with the National Specialist Register as a General Paediatrician. She has worked with the Ministry of Health from 1997 till 2005 before joining Penang Medical College where she is now a Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics. She is still a practicing paediatrician in Seberang Jaya Hospital and is involved in post-graduate teaching in government hospitals for MRCPCH. She is also a certified NRP and PALS instructor as well as a Cochrane Systematic Review author. She has special interest in children with Thalassaemia and chronic illnesses. She is currently the leading educator for the SEA-URCHIN project in Penang, an international educational programme aiming to reduce neonatal infections though education for health care workers."
