Biography

Dr. Ferrona Beason is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program of the Division of Nursing. She has also worked many years in the undergraduate program. She has worked in multiple clinical settings including, adult health, women’s health, and neonatology. Dr. Beason is a member of many organizations including the Florida Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI), and the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). She served on the Memorial West Research Council in the past and served as a research consultant for some of their nurses. Dr. Beason is an active member of the Lambda Chi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). She served on the Board of Directors for the Lambda Chi Chapter as the secretary from 2008 to 2012 and served as an international delegate from 2009 to 2011. Dr. Beason also serves the community as a volunteer for organizations that aid the underserved. She serves her church in many capacities; she has been the Associate Youth Director since 2000, is a Sunday School and Children’s church teacher, is the chair of the medical team and is a member of the medical missions board.
