Prof. Sallusto is Director of the Center of Medical Immunology and Head of the Cellular Immunology Laboratory at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in Bellinzona and Professor of Medical Immunology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). She is a former member of the Basel Institute for Immunology and a research associate at the National Institute of Health in Rome. Prof. Sallusto is a member of the German Academy of Science, member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) and was President of the Swiss Society for Allergology and Immunology
