Biography

Professor Alisher Faizullaev, D.Sc., Ph.D., is a scholar, teacher, trainer, writer and former Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the European Union and NATO. Currently he is a Professor in the Department of Practical Diplomacy and Director of the Negotiation Laboratory at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University and the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University (2011-2012), as well as a Visiting Scholar at McGill University (2014), Cambridge University (2005) and a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Western Washington University (1992). He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Institute of Psychology, Academy of Sciences of the former USSR, Moscow (1984), and a Higher Doctorate (D.Sc.) in Political Science from UWED (2006). He published 8 scholarly and fictional books and many articles on social and behavioral sciences. His articles have appeared in “Review of International Studies”, “Diplomacy and Statecraft”, “Negotiation Journal”, Harvard Law School’s “Negotiation”, “Process of International Negotiation – Network Perspectives”, “The Hague Journal of Diplomacy”, “Journal of International Relations and Development” and other journals. Some of his short stories written in Russian have been translated into English and Korean languages and published in the United States and Republic of Korea. He participated and made presentations at numerous academic and diplomatic conferences in many countries, and conducted lectures, seminars and workshops at such universities and organizations as Harvard University; Tufts University; Georgetown University; Johns Hopkins University; the Ohio State University; California School of Professional Psychology; Center for Creative Leadership (San Diego); University of Washington; Western Washington University; Thomas Jefferson University; University of Cambridge; University of Aoyama, Keio University, and others.

Research Intrest

International Negotiation, Public Diplomacy, Diplomatic Skills, Political Psychology in International Relations. He conducts various training courses and workshops on negotiation, creativity, leadership and group work. His research interests lie in the areas of diplomatic studies, international negotiation and political psychology.
