Dr Faisal Hanif is a UK and Irish Intercollegiate Speciality Board certified surgeon with a specialist interest in liver, gall bladder, biliary and pancreatic diseases. He joined Shaukat Khanum Hospital in October 2014 after working at internationally recognised and very well reputed Hepato-pancreato-biliary and transplant centres in Leeds, Glasgow and Cambridge. In Shaukat Khanum, he receives referrals from all over the country and also from across the border for benign and malignant problems varying from routine to difficult cases. He provides service for complex liver, gall bladder, bile duct and pancreatic tumours, often accepting patients considered to be inoperable at other hospitals and have the honour to perform successful surgery for those patients. He also deals with biliary strictures and injuries to the liver and bile duct during laparoscopic or open surgery. As a hepatobiliary specialist he also performs laparoscopic cholecystectomy for gall bladder stones and bile duct clearance for bile duct stones. In addition to the clinical commitments he is supervising several research projects including clinical and basic science research.
