Ms Fairuz received her biomedical science degree from University of Malaya in 2009. She worked in microbiological laboratory for few months before joining the Biopharmaceutical Services Division, Ministry of Health from 2009 to 2011 as a research officer. Then, she had an opportunity to further her study in Masters of Science (Medical Statistics) at Universiti Sains Malaysia. After getting her master degree in 2013, she worked in a health research company as a consultant until she resigned to join Penang Medical College in 2014 as lecturer cum statisticians.
