Biography

Dr Gericke was appointed as a permanent full-time lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law, Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria, with effect from January 2009. She holds the degrees B Nursing and B Hon Psych (US), as well as LLB (Pret) and LLM (cum laude) (Pret). In 2015 she received a doctorate degree (LLD) in Labour Law FROM THE University of Johannesburg under the supervision of Prof Nicola Smit, (then the vice-dean of the Faculty of Law at UJ) currently dean of the Faculty of Law, of the University of North-West. The title of her thesis is: ‘Successive fixed-term contracts of employment and the right to fair labour practices in South Africa’. She received the AHI Labour Law Prize for the best student in the LLM Labour Law programme as a whole (shared). She was promoted to senior lecturer in 2013.

Research Intrest

Labour Law, Specific Contracts & Mercantile Law are his area of interest.
