Biography

Her research interests focus on Her research interests focus on sustainable planning and development, more specifically in developing sustainable transportation systems and socio-cultural dimensions of sustainability in tourism planning. She has worked closely with development organizations, planners, and community members when conducting sustainability-oriented research in Toronto, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha in the following areas: cultural planning, societal implications and sustainable challenges of Dubai’s tourism development, community involvement in decision-making, emerging technologies in Tourism SMEs, resident attitudes towards tourists and tourism growth, travel behavior, implementation of cordon pricing in Abu Dhabi (sponsored by Research Office at UAEU), modelling of users’ ground access travel choice characteristics for Hamad International Airport in Doha (sponsored by Research Office at Qatar University).   , more specifically in developing sustainable transportation systems and socio-cultural dimensions of sustainability in tourism planning.
