Biography

Ershaad A. Basheer is a consultant for high-performance scientific computing with an engineering and research background. In addition to high-performance computing, his roles at current and previous academic employers has included informal teaching to some extent. The topics are mainly centered around the use of Linux in a research environment and parallel computing. Students and participants consisted mainly of graduate students and post-docs, and some faculty. The general pattern he follows for teaching is lectures followed by hands-on sessions. His preferred method of teaching is to cover the basics of each course in a very thorough fashion, which necessarily takes more time, but reinforces concepts that will make it easier for students to understand more advanced topics.

Research Intrest

His are of interest are Linux system administration and high performance scientific computing. Parallel processing platforms. Scripting. TCP/IP and Linux troubleshooting
