Biography

Ellen Beinert, born in Essen, passed her examinations at the Musikfachhochschule in Cologne, at the age of 23, and shortly afterwards took over the A-Kantorenstelle at one of the main churches in Wuppertal. Since 1997 she has been an organist and a cantor at the Evangelical University Church of Münster. As an organist, Ellen Beinert has performed many concerts in Germany and Europe. With performances of the great oratorical works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Giacomo Puccini and not least Arthur Honegger, she has also made a name for herself as a conductor. She is an instructor for organ playing at the University of Münster. She has been nominated several times as a juror for choir competitions, including the Landesmusikrat NRW.
