Biography

I completed my doctoral studies at Queens’ College, Cambridge in 1995. My thesis focused on the work of Don Cupitt and Iris Murdoch and I have since published a number of articles on the philosophy of Iris Murdoch. My most recent article, ‘Images of Reality: Iris Murdoch’s Five Ways from Art to Religion’ (Religions, 2015) was featured on the publisher’s blog in their selection of highly-rated papers. I am currently working on the Philosophy of Religion contribution to the Routledge series What is this thing called …? to be published later this year. I have a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education from University College Suffolk (now University Campus Suffolk at Suffolk New College), and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have taught at Heythrop College since 2000, during which time I have held several roles in addition to my teaching responsibilities, including that of Dean of Undergraduate Studies (2003-2008) and Director of the University of London International Programmes in Theology (2000-2003 and 2007-date).
