Biography

Miss Edith Ntefeleng Pakkies (M.Ed; B.Cur; Gen Nurse; Mid; Paed Nurse; Nursing Educ; Comm and Occ.Health Nurse) joined the Nursing Department at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in October 2013. Miss Pakkies obtained her Master’s Degree at UKZN in April 2013 and is a PHD candidate. Prior to joining the Nursing Department at UKZN, Ms Pakkies was a Lecturer at McCord School of Nursing and Prince Mshiyeni Nursing College in Durban. Miss Pakkies has been involved in facilitation of learning in students of nursing, evaluation of learning, placement of students in clinical areas and has also been part of curriculum review subcommittees. Miss Pakkies brings along vast clinical experience as she practiced in both Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Units and Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital and Addington Hospital as Senior Professional Nurse for over 10years.
