Dr.K.Arunkumar did his M.Sc. and M. Phil Botany fromBharathidasan University. He completed his Ph.D. from Centre for Advanced Studies in Botany, University of Madras, India under the guidance of Algologist Prof. R. Rengasamy. He worked in Rubber Research Institute of India for one and half year during 1997-1999. He has worked as Teacher in Government College under Tamil Nadu Collegiate Educational Service from 1999-2016 for more than 16 years. His main interest has been in the field of diversity, biology and biochemistry of algae. He has special focus on isolation of bioactive compounds from seaweeds and conversion of seaweed biomass to ethanol. He has also having experience on various organic farming techniques. He has published over 40 research papers in journals of International and National repute. He has guided 3 Ph.D. students. He has completed 4 major projects and 1 minor project
