Biography

Dr. Tim Bajkiewicz (“Dr. B.” to a lot of his students) is an associate professor of broadcast journalism and the associate director of the Robertson School. He joined the faculty in fall 2008. From 2010-2014 he served as the journalism sequence coordinator and, druing spring 2014, as the interim director of undergraduate studies. He became the interim associate director in fall 2014 and was named associate director in fall 2015.From 2008-2016 Dr. Bajkiewicz was the faculty instructor (through MASC 465 Newscasting), executive producer and co-news director for VCU InSight, the school’s 30-minute undergraduate student-produced TV news program that airs on WCVW-TV Richmond PBS. He shared news director duties with Colleen (Reilly) Phelps, a longtime TV news reporter and anchor, most recently with WWBT-TV NBC12 in Richmond.

Research Intrest

new media and news convergence has been published in the journal Electronic News and in two book chapters.
