Biography

Born 1940 in Berlin. Abitur 1960 at the Old-German Albertus-Magnus-Gymnasium in Beckum. Study of Protestant Theology at the Universities of Bethel, Göttingen, Zurich, Basel, Münster 1960-65. 1. Theological Examination 1965; 2nd Theological Examination 1970. Doctorate 1969 with Walther Zimmerli in Göttingen. Subject: Old Testament exile prophecy. Habilitation 1976 University of Essen. Subject: Didactics of the Old Testament. 1969-70 vicar of the Evangelical Church in Westphalia. 1970-74 Research Assistant, Pädagogische Hochschule Ruhr. 1974-76 Academic Council / High Council University of Essen. 1976-79 Associate Professor at the University of Essen. 1979-94 University professor at the University of Essen. 1994 Appointment as university professor at the University of Münster.
