Biography

He have been involved in multi-disciplinary environmental research since 1994-1995. His research interests have been on water-related climate change issues, climate change adaptation technologies, water resource management, abatement of water pollution, treatment of waste water and surface water using EC technology. He have developed an interest in multidisciplinary research on complex issues relating to climate change and its effects on micro-environment. He have been doing research on vulnerability and impact assessment for climate change, ecosystem-based adaptation and sustainable adaptation due to climate change. He have training on teaching (TOT) Disaster Management in graduate level. He have successfully completed a project entitled ‘Climate Change Adaptation practices in Thirty Agroecological Zones (AEZs) of Bangladesh’ funded by OXFAM UK in 2009. Moreover, under his leadership, Department of Environmental Sciences of Jahangirnagar University have organized five days training program on Disaster Management for graduate students in 2009 which was funded by CDMP, Bangladesh. He implemented a World Bank funded HEQEP subproject entitled ‘Improvement of Classroom and Laboratory based teaching-learning facilities in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Jahangirnagar University’ as Subproject Manager (2011-2012). He have worked as VIA Analyst in ECCO project of Department of Environment, Bangladesh during 2012-2013 where I have done vulnerability and impact assessment and ecosystem-based adaptation in two potential ecosystems (Hakaluki Haor and Shymnagar, Satkhira) of Bangladesh. He have just completed UNDP short term national consultancy for CDMP II to review the incorporation of Disaster Management contents/lessons into NCTB books (Class III to XII) and to suggest proper alternatives (27 January 2014 - 26 March 2014). Moreover, he is working as a team leader in an action research on “Creation of artificial aquifer to alleviate portable water crisis” where a new technology has been introduced to mitigate portable water crisis in Nagoan district with help of Christian Commissions for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB).
